Course: BA Journalism Favorite Book: Saying It Out Loud by Joan Abelove has been my favorite book since high school. I read it for a book review requirement, and fell in love with it. Made me cry a river. Favorite Film: Sakaling Hindi Makarating (2016) by Ice Idanan. This Filipino indie film is the reason why I am collecting, making, and sending postcards. Aside from its unconventional plot and the ever remarkable portrayal of Alessandra de Rossi and Pepe Herrera as the main characters, the involvement of postcards (and the painting themselves) inspired me, as an artist, to produce my own. The original paintings from the film was also painted by my favorite local painter/muralist Anina Rubio. Favorite Media Practitioner: Wes Anderson, a filmmaker. He was introduced to us by our production design professor back in senior high school. I admire his films -- story wise, production design wise, and even the color grading. Favorite Song/Band/Artist: I long to go back to the early 2000s when Sugarfree has not disbanded yet. I would definitely go to their gigs and sing along to Tulog Na, Mariposa, and Ikaw Pala. But for now there's Dancel, Danao, and Dumas (aka 3D), an alternative to what I've missed back in the days. Favorite Internet Site: Since I seldom go to gigs lately, I've been spending my late nights scrolling through my favorite musicians' Spotify pages. I also enjoy discovering independent musicians from different genres across the world, and appreciating how diverse the art of music is. Favorite Meal: I would trade anything for my aunt's special Binagoongan. This raised my bagoong standards. Hobbies: I paint postcards and faces using watercolor and acrylic.
